Motorcycle rally taken out on protection of girl child

A motorcycle rally was taken out by the district unit of Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI) as part of the ongoing 32nd Road Safety Month celebrations and National Girl Child Day on Sunday.
The rally which began at the Gandhi Park, near GVMC, passed through Gurudwara, Kancharapalem, NAD, Gajuwaka, Balacheruvu Road, Gantyada and Gangavaram before reaching Yarada.
At Yarada Beach, the participants told visitors and the public on girl child’s protection and road safety. They displayed messages on road safety. Later, the rally continued via Yarada Hill, Sagara Durga temple, Scindia Junction and Naval Dockyard to conclude at Convent Junction.
Mysore/Mysuru: Voluntary blood donation, garlanding idol and felicitation marked the 158th birth anniversary of
Swami Vivekananda which is celebrated as National Youth Day, in city this morning.
At a function organised at Mahajana First College, Dr. B.S. Manjunathswamy, Additional Deputy Commissioner, called upon the youths to develop the habit of questioning as it was panacea to many problems being faced by the country.
He said Swami Vivekananda has been an idol for crores of Indians but they have failed to emulate him especially questioning. The youths must not accept anything without questioning but unfortunately the attitude was missing in the current generation.
YHAI holds blood donation camp

The Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI) conducted a blood donation camp as part of celebrating the National Youth Day on Tuesday.
The camp was held in association with Garden Valley English Medium Higher Secondary School, the Blood Donors Kerala, and the Government Blood Bank, Tirur.
Perumanna Clari panchayat president Libas Moideen inaugurated the function. YHAI district chairman Yusuf Taikadan presided over the function. YHAI State chairman M. Aboobacker was the chief guest.
Excise Inspector O. Sajita was the first to donate her blood. Garden Valley school Principal M. Riyasuddin welcomed the gathering. YHAI district leader Shahul Hameed Parambat proposed a vote of thanks.
