Sharjah Ruler restructures Urban Planning Council

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, issued Emiri Decree No. (7) of 2021 amending Emiri Decree No. (20) of 2019 regarding the restructuring of the Sharjah Urban Planning Council (SUPC).
The new Emiri Decree stipulates that the new SUPC Board of Directors will be chaired by Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council, with Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Saud Al Qasimi as Vice Chairman and Director of the Council.
Sharjah completes 93pc of Al Dhaid road work
SHARJAH, 19 hours, 56 minutes ago Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has completed 93 per cent of the Al Dhaid Road development project - from the fifth interchange to the seventh interchange - at a total cost of AED85 million ($23 million). This comes as part of the SRTA s annual plan to develop roads and boost infrastructure in various places across the emirate, said senior officials. According to them, the road was being opened in a phased manner to traffic, through four lanes heading to the city of Al Dhaid. SRTA Chairman Engineer Yousef Saleh Al Suwaiji said it was keen to implement new and future projects, under the directives of the Sharjah government, in accordance with the highest international standards and specifications, in order to accommodate the increasing traffic movement in the streets.

The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has completed Al Dhaid Road development project at a cost of Dh85 million.
The project runs between the fifth and seventh intersection in both directions of Al Dhaid Road. The four-lane road, which has a width of 15 metres on both sides, will be opened for traffic movement in phases, the authority said.
Yousef Saleh Al Suwaiji, Chairman of the SRTA, said the Al Dhaid Road development project embodied the vision of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

New network of roads linked to Sharjah-Al Dhaid Road, other arterial roads to Sajaa industrial area and Emirates Road.
The Sharjah Road and Transport Authority is set to open new roads and parking lots for the Sajaa livestock and cattle market tomorrow, April 1.
The Dh13-million project comes as part of the authority’s efforts to facilitate people’s movement and keep pace with the rapid development of the city.
Yousef Saleh Al-Suwaiji, chairman of the SRTA, said these new roads and parking lots are expected to help a large segment of visitors.
