OSWEGO — Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang announced Friday, Feb. 12, that 25 additional residents have tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the total cumulative number of positive cases since the county began monitoring for COVID-19 in March 2020 to 6,042. There are currently 197 active positive cases. He also reported another COVID-19-related death. “This marks the 87th death of one of our neighbors. I would like to express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of this patient.” As the Oswego County Health Department continues to monitor COVID-19 activities in the county, Huang said, “Despite this new loss, we have noticed that both hospitalization rates and deaths are down in the past two weeks or more. The number of new positive cases in the daily reports are also drastically reduced.”
