YOUNGSVILLE, La. â Peyton Murphy has fought the good fight against cancer since high school. and now, tomorrow, friends and family will gather right here at 501 Sports Bar in Youngsville to help him continue that fight.
âI m just a friend,â says event co-organizer Aimee Camacho. âJust a friend helping out a friend.â
If a person is measured by the quality of his friends, Peyton Murphy is a good, good young man.
Murphy was diagnosed with bone cancer - osteosarcoma when he was 17. He became a St. Jude patient, went into remission, but recently, the cancer has returned with a vengeance.

YOUNGSVILLE, La. â Youngsville Police Chief Rickey Boudreaux is recovering at home after testing positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
Boudreaux said he went to the hospital on Friday to receive an antibody infusion to treat COVID-19 and was released later that night.
He said he began feeling better on Monday but still has some lingering symptoms. He is still in quarantine at his home.
The YPD administration office will be closed due to COVID-19 until Monday Jan. 25.
