Promoting water safety and family awareness are some of the main objectives of the Family Fun and Fishing event which will be held next weekend at Firemen’s Park. The event offers free life jackets for children, safety lessons, games and activities. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and alongside the event from 10 a.m. to noon will be the Young Anglers Fishing Tournament. The Remembering Wyatt Dale Water Safety Awareness organization hosts the event each year and seeks to spread the message of water safety and provide life jackets for all children.
Alongside the Family Fun in the Sun event at Fireman’s Park at the end of April will be an opportunity for families to come together and build a love of fishing during the Young Anglers Fishing Tournament. The second annual tournament will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 22 at Fireman’s Park and is open to all children 12 and under. The inaugural event was supported by the city of Graham. The Rotary Club of Graham took ownership of the event this year.
