Police warn of suspicious paid vaccination offers emerging across Japan The Mainichi
CHIBA Police in many regions of Japan have received a number of reports of suspicious phone calls and visits demanding money in relation to coronavirus vaccinations.
A Chiba Prefectural Police officer told the Mainichi Shimbun, Anyone can receive these calls any day. Authorities do not ask for money or personal information by phone or email in relation to vaccinations. We hope people will tell the police if they receive any suspicious calls.
On March 2, in the western Japan prefecture of Osaka, a woman in her 80s got a call on her house phone from a woman claiming to be a city government employee. She was reportedly told, You can get a 4,000-yen coronavirus vaccine for 400 yen, and I ll visit you at home tomorrow.
