POLICE are clamping down on dangerously parked vehicles on Otley Chevin after complaints from local people. A total of 18 tickets were given out last weekend by officers from the local neighbourhood policing team - and drivers are being warned that daily enforcement will continue. Towthorpe crossroads looking towards York. From Google Streetview POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a crash that blocked the A64 in both directions near York. One of the two vehicles involved in the collision at the Towthorpe crossroads yesterday afternoon burst into flames. Members of the public managed to pull everyone in the vehicles to safety. This morning, North Yorkshire Police revealed that two people suffered serious injuries. They are appealing for anyone who saw the collision or either vehicle before it happened to contact them. Warning for York allotment users after spate of damage and break-ins with one shed set on fire POLICE in York are urging people with allotments to be vigilant following a spate of thefts and damage at Kilburn Road Allotments over the past few days. Officers have received eight reports of incidents including shed break-ins, damage to sheds, theft of tools and one shed containing tools, a lawnmower and trimmer, was set on fire. The incidents are believed to have happened overnight between Wednesday and Thursday.
