A 69-year-old Manchester man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver who came to his house to pick up free furniture on Tuesday, authorities said.
Kevin Noonan, of Manchester, was arrested later in Lacey and charged with leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement Wednesday.
The man he hit Jack Gotfried was flown to Jersey Shore University Hospital in Neptune where he was pronounced dead. Gotfried and Noonan didn’t know each other, a prosecutor’s office spokesman said.
