Updated: 6:52 PM EST Jan 29, 2021 A small group of parents protested the York City School Districtâs plan to transition to hybrid learning.The switch is set for next month, but parents who demonstrated Friday want the district to continue with virtual learning.Parents said the hybrid model will lessen teacher-student interaction.âI feel like theyâre not really listening to the wants and the needs of the parents of this district. Itâs really a shame because itâs our children. It should be our choice to decide on whether we want to send them back to school or keep them at home,â Tara Gilbert said.The school district issued a statement saying it respects the right to peacefully protest. District leaders said they will continue to work to make decisions that best meet the needs of students and staff.
