York ME Climate Action Plan work draws nearly 60 volunteers

YORK, Maine The Town of York Climate Action Plan Steering Committee met virtually for a volunteer kickoff Tuesday, April 27.  Nearly 60 people have signed up to volunteer and participate in the CAP, with more people reaching out to engage every day, Rozanna Patane said, and encouraged more people to reach out.  We want as many people as possible to have input, Patane said.  Patane and Wayne Boardman are Steering Committee co-chairs. Committee volunteers include Karen Aresenault, State Rep. Lydia Bloom, Zephania Cortesi, Lillian Hubbard, Jennifer Hunter, Mac McAbee, Ron McAllister, Marilyn McLaughlin, Robert Palmer and Gerry Runte.  Bloom, who is in her fourth term representing the district, said she during the meeting that she  hopes to bring some of that experience to help York achieve their goals.

York selectmen ink deal for Comprehensive and Climate Action plans YORK, Maine –– The Board of Selectmen signed off Monday on a service agreement with independent contractor CivicMoxie to complete a Comprehensive Plan and Climate Action Plan for a contract fee of $336,430. Planning Director Dylan Smith referred to the Massachusetts-based firm as the cream of the crop  during. Smith will serve as the project manager, and CivicMoxie will facilitate the planning process. The Planning Board chose and recommended CivicMoxie to the Board of Selectmen last April, but the project was delayed due to a request for proposal review process and because the board asked CivicMoxie to add the CAP alongside the Comp Plan update.
