Yorktown 5K, 10K on Saturday, April 3 | Williamsburg Yorktown Daily

Yorktown 5K course map (WYDaily/Courtesy of Gail Whittaker) YORK COUNTY The Victory Family YMCA presents its sixth annual Victory at Yorktown races, with the 5K and 10K races. These races begin at the Yorktown Waterfront and proceed past historical and scenic landmarks such as the Yorktown Victory Monument, Cornwallis’ Cave, and Surrender Field. All proceeds go toward helping to strengthen the community and keep families healthy. The following will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. • Water Street, between Buckner and Ballard Streets Closed to vehicular traffic from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. for 5K race participants are:

York County Tourism Development receives $20,000 grant | Williamsburg Yorktown Daily

York County Tourism Development has received $20,000 from the Virginia Tourism Corporation’s (VTC) Recovery Marketing Leverage Program (RMLP). The grant is designed to help tourism entities in Virginia to attract more visitors by leveraging limited marketing dollars through a local match of state grants funds. The funding will be used to continue to tell the story of Yorktown, with a goal of increasing awareness and visitation to the destination.  The funds will also support a targeted video campaign; increased digital and search advertising; targeted email campaigns; and a more prominent presence in the Virginia Travel Guide. All of the aforementioned initiatives will tie in with the
