FORT ALBANY Students at Peetabeck Academy in Fort Albany returned to in-class learning this past week, following a weeklong break.
While most schools were directed by the province two weeks ago to transition to remote learning, schools located on First Nation reserves are exempt because they do not fall under provincial government jurisdiction.

As it turns out, the return to in-class learning in Fort Albany was not unanimously embraced by staff.
At least a couple of teachers expressed views to The Daily Press that Peetabeck should be adhering to the same measures implemented at schools located off reserve.

On Thursday, Jan. 7, ORNGE air ambulances delivered the first doses of the Moderna Vaccine to the James Bay Coast. Vaccinations started Friday, Jan. 8, at the Weeneebayko General Hospital in Moose Factory.
