Walstead’s deal to buy at least seven web offset presses from the collapsed YM web division has resulted in feverish industry speculation about what happens next.
Simply Inkjet was incorporated at the end of last month and officially went live yesterday (16 December).
The new venture involves a strategic relationship with inkjet developer Memjet.
Simply Inkjet is described as “creating bespoke integrations using the latest inkjet technology. Working in partnership with Memjet technology we bring the most advanced and flexible inkjet technology to a global market allowing business and manufacturing transformation”.
Cooper was well-known for devising bespoke systems during his time at Lettershop.
Memjet’s modular inkjet systems are used by a wide range of manufacturers for applications including commercial printing, labels, wide-format, mailing and addressing, and packaging.
