“Believe in the Magic of Beef” is a statewide thank you to healthcare workers
The South Dakota Beef Industry Council and healthcare systems are together giving back to our healthcare workers across the state in a holiday thank you campaign.

45 hospitals from the smallest to largest systems including Monument are participating in this $50,000 partnership effort to give back to healthcare workers.
Les Shaw, Promotion Committee Chair for South Dakota Beef Industry Council, says, “There’s no more vital part to our community then the healthcare industry, they kind of take care of us…and so we thought that it was very important for sure to show our gratitude and thank these workers that are just really at their wits end and burning the candle from both ends, and so we just wanted to say thank you and that we are there for you and we support you.”

A new food bank and baby bank has been opened to help those in crisis within the Airedale community
Over lockdown, The Airedale Neighbourhood Management Board, who are a longstanding community group, has overseen the setting up of a new food bank and a baby bank in Airedale, to be managed by a subcommittee.
After realising how many people were in crisis during the pandemic, the foodbank have sworn to assist those who are in dire need of food and baby goods, as a result of loss of work, benefit changes, delays in wage payments or having to self-isolate.
