Due to the tensions between India and China and a few security reasons, MeitY decided to ban hundreds of Android, iOS apps in India.  It all started as a response to China’s attack at the Galwan Valley in Ladakh. On June 29, 2020, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology announced a ban on TikTok, ShareIt, UC Browser, Shein, CamScanner, and many more.
