Santa Clarita Resident Inducted To 2021 Class Of Real Women By American Heart Association
Santa Clarita resident Yesenia Lujan-Berbiar has been selected by the American Heart Association as part of the 2021 Class of Real Women for her work promoting and advocating for women’s heart health after her own stroke in 2020.
Those inducted are women who have survived cardiovascular disease or strokes, and have chosen to educate, inspire, and support other women when it comes to heart health, according to officials.
Lujan-Berbiar has made changes to her own lifestyle since her stroke.
“Before I eat anything, I ask my heart if it’s ok to have it,” she said. “I love my heart so much that I talk to it all the time.”
