Denise Burd, 61, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021, after a long battle with heart and kidney disease at Residential Hospice, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Elizabeth, N.J., she moved to the Wyoming Valley at a very young age. She worked as a nurses’ aide for over 20 years. Denise lived her life to the fullest and fought until the very end. Denise did not allow her health to stop the love she had for the family. She was always happy especially when spending time with her girls and grandchildren. Besides her love for her family, she was an avid animal lover. She enjoyed cuddling with her cats while bird watching. If asked, she could tell you the breed of any bird. Her smile lit up the room, just like all her Christmas decorations. She was known to belt out “Ave Maria” at any time.
