Michelle Yeoh reprises her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou from Star Trek: Discovery in a new "original movie event" for Paramount Plus. The series will follow Georgiou as she joins a secret division of Starfleet tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets and confronts the sins of her past. Yeoh is excited to return to her Star Trek family and her role, which has been near and dear to her heart since the franchise's return. The film is written by Craig Sweeney and directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi, with executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Aaron Byers, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rodneyberry, Trevor Roth, and Yeoh. Production will begin later this year.
Paramount+ isn’t messing around with Star Trek. With Discovery, Picard, Lower Decks, Prodigy, and the upcoming Strange New Worlds, the streaming platform already has five new Trek shows in the works.
