WHEN Father Valentine Weber of the Sacred Heart Mission landed in Jesselton (now Kota Kinabalu) and started the building of St Francis convent in the early 1920s, he planted a seed that after 100 years continues to produce valuable human capital so necessary for women empowering and Sabah’s progress.
