Dubai: Which ‘cloud kitchen’ in Dubai is cooking up your next order?
Seemingly, without anyone outside of the industry knowing much about it, cloud kitchens have become one of the hottest new business categories in Dubai after COVID-19 showed up in March last year. It ranks right alongside online grocery app launches and the ‘Buy Now Pay Later’ platforms as the trends to keep watching out for… even in a post-COVID-19 business landscape.
But can Dubai absorb all of these new and existing cloud kitchens? Especially when their business model is based on there being enough orders streaming – daily - through websites and apps to support an industrial-sized cooking and delivery of those meals. (There are now online ads that talk about launching a cloud kitchen in the matter of two weeks…)

Sheikh Mohammed’s 100 million meal campaign
Following the success of last year’s 10 million meal campaign, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai announced the ‘100 million meals campaign’ – the largest campaign of its kind in the region. The campaign is set to raise 100 million dirhams to provide 100 million meals for disadvantaged individuals and families. There are three ways you can donate which you can learn about here.

A new restaurant has opened in Carnarvon St, Suva giving people more options to choose from authentic Indian cuisines and has provided employment to 18 people.
Rajdhani Multi Cuisine Restaurant specialises in North Indian cuisines from India according to the manager Sanjesh Chand.
During its launch on Wednesday he said the restaurant had hired six expatriate chefs from India to prepare the meals.
“We have about six chefs that have already joined us from India where my director is from,” he said.
“Ever since my director had moved to Fiji in 2004, he has been working for Ashiyana for 11 and half years and from there he has started Yellow Chilli restaurant and then moved to Swagat restaurant.
