“A bit of a soggy burger of a documentary. It was billed as a fly-on-the-wall profile of the fast-food chain as it prepared for the festive season during lockdown. But what was served up felt more like a product placement for KFC’s complicated-looking new gravy chicken meal.”
“They ought to have remembered the cynical chef’s warning that no one would ever want to eat in a restaurant if they saw inside the kitchen. A better policy was the one used by Franchise Owner Caroline, who had her staff dressed as chickens outside the branch and waggling their tail feathers at passing drivers. It’s better to raise a smile than turn your stomach.”
A couple who bravely committed to living together during lockdown after just one date revealed how they re now officially a couple on The Year That Changed Love.
Last night s Channel 4 documentary explored the impact of Covid-19 on people s love lives - including two Edinburgh residents, Claire, 31, and Jade, 27, who chose to go into isolation together after one date.
After deciding to isolate together in Jade s flat, the couple can be seen relaxing in face masks, tucking into a steak dinner and watching Aladdin.
And viewers were delighted to hear that at the end of lockdown, the couple had not only survived living together, but had made it official - eight months on.

Truly there are such things as Christmas miracles. First the vaccine (and the second dose being given to a William Shakespeare and prompting the image of Americans across their nation punching the air and crying: âWe knew it! England is Four Weddings and a Downton Abbey full of bards!â). And now The Year That Changed Love (Channel 4) â a programme following the impact of the global pandemic and countrywide lockdown on a group of people and their relationships â somehow ending up as one of the warmest, most uplifting hours of television we have had this year. There should almost have been a warning at the beginning, so we could have braced ourselves. Warning: may cause overload in underused synapses in the pleasure centres of your brain. Please do not panic. What you are feeling is âhappinessâ and it is safe to enjoy. It will pass soon enough.
