AFP Laos’ capital plans 30 large development projects to 2025 Wed, 30 December 2020 Vientiane authorities have pledged to carry out 30 large-scale development projects from now until 2025 in a bid to accelerate the Lao capital’s economic growth. Most of these projects will be carried out through public-private partnerships under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model as the government is encouraging the private sector to build infrastructure and support the construction of other facilities. Due to limited funding, the government is partnering with the private sector to finance development projects by offering incentives and improving the investment climate.
