Monomoy Girl preparing for her return to the races in the Bayakoa Stakes
The return of Champion Older Dirt Female Monomoy Girl in the Grade 3 Bayakoa from Oaklawn Park anchors Sunday s Cross Country Pick 5, hosted by the New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA), featuring racing action from the Hot Springs, Arkansas-based oval and Aqueduct Racetrack.

The sequence begins in Race 7 at Aqueduct (4:25 p.m. Eastern) with a seven-furlong allowance optional claiming race for older horses. Six racehorses, three trainers, and one jockey account for the 10 finalists that will comprise the National Museum of Racing s 2021 Hall of Fame ballot, as chosen by the Museum s Hall of Fame Nominating Committee. The finalists are racehorses American Pharoah (first year of eligibility), Blind Luck, Game On Dude, Havre de Grace, Kona Gold, and Rags to Riches; trainers Christophe Clement, Doug O Neill, and Todd Pletcher (first year of eligibility); and jockey Corey Nakatani.
Hall of Fame voters may select as many or as few candidates as they believe are worthy of induction to the Hall of Fame. All candidates that receive 50 percent plus one vote (majority approval) from the voting panel will be elected to the Hall of Fame. All of the finalists were required to receive support from two-thirds of the 15-member Nominating Committee to qualify for the ballot.

A world-renowned institution was recognised on Saturday evening as the Irish National Stud became the latest name to be inducted into the hall of fame at the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders Association s national breeding and racing awards.
This award acknowledged the stud s extraordinary and continued contribution to the Irish thoroughbred industry over many decades, from the stallions it stands, to its breeding course and the impact the stud makes as a national tourist attraction.
It joins an illustrious list, with recent names to be have been inducted including JP McManus, John O Connor of Ballylinch Stud and David and Diane Nagle.
