Ridgefield s Kieran Smith Ranked Top NCAA Division 1 Men s Swimmer, Likened to Ryan Lochte Written by Lily Newman
2018 RHS graduate and current University of Florida swimmer, Kieran Smith was named the number 1 ranked NCAA men s swimmer this season by Swimming World Magazine.
Smith has been compared to 12-time Olympic medalist, Ryan Lochte! Just this weekend, at the Mizzou Aquatics Center, the Gators took home their ninth straight SEC title, led by our very own. He was also named SEC Championship Swimmer of the Meet.
Smith holds an American record, an NCAA record, multiple SEC records, and multiple Florida records. Other accolades include 14-time All American, 2020 SEC male swimmer of the year and 2020 All-SEC First Team.
Tide Defender Earns Spot On Mexican National Team
Last week, Alabama soccer announced star sophomore defender Reyna Reyes has been called up to join the Mexican Women s National Team at their camp in Mexico City. Reyes has been with the club in Mexico s capital ever since being called up for their U17 team s World Cup run in 2016 as an undersized eighth-grader in Dallas, Texas.

The 19-year-old made her first appearance for Mexico s premier women s team in the final week of January this year once she received word of the invitation via email. Her most previous outing prior to being named to the full team came in 2018 when Mexico lost in the U17 World Cup Finals, earning Reyes her first medal, a silver, at the age of seventeen.
