developing this morning, there are tragic details in the tragic crash of 9525. the pilot heard on the cockpit voice recorder begging to be let back into the cockpit. the co-pilot andreas lubitz ignoring his controls as alarm sounds warning of the plane s deadly descent. now, video is emerging of him as a teenager the question remain how did he change? how did he go down this path? what was the illness? was it mental illness? because we all know the result. 149 lives taken because of what was going on with him. we have this story covered as only cnn can do it. we begin live in germany. fred what is the latest? reporter: yeah chris, of course everybody is talking about the transcript from the cockpit voice recorder that was released by a german newspaper called the build newspaper.
houthis came through this whole thing, back in january, and hadi stepped down with some of his members of parliament we said right on the show with you, hadi will be back because the houthis are not prepared to run the country. so i think we need to keep in mind the houthis, sunni, shia even though they re shia they did this internally and they attacked a freely-elected government. to chris s premise, with what about that that the u.s. supports the sunnis in one country and the shia in another country. is that okay? do we need to pick a side? well i think is dramatizes that u.s. policy is really in free fall. we have chaos in iraq in syria, in libya, in yemen. we really have a complete dysfunction and free pafall characterizing u.s. policy. what we need to do is have a fundamental rethink and that may be the process we re going through in terms of trying to strike a deal with iran. a fundamental rethink that has
we ve learned more about what actually happened in the plane. apparently right after the plane reached cruising altitude the captain went out of the cockpit presumably to go to the bathroom and that point the co-pilot locked the door. there s a code for someone to try to get back in. but the ceo of lufthansa told me that he believes the co-pilot simply did not let the pilot back in he locked the door and then deliberately as chris just said put the auto pilot on 100 feet which eventually led to the plane crashing into the mountain. so there are still a lot of questions, but certainly one thing that the lufthansa ceo, when speaking to me was very clear on he said this was clearly a deliberate attempt to destroy this aircraft. guys? fred thanks so much for that. well the news that the co-pilot deliberately crashed the plane is devastating to the families of the victims. they gather in france for a memorial service near the crash site. meanwhile, weather slowing the task of recovering
