Usman M. Muktar, has taken over as the new head of the Ilorin Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC.
Muktar, a Chief Detective Superintendent, took over from Chief Detective Superintendent Oseni Kazeem Oluwasina, who has been redployed to Makurdi office of the anti-graft agency as the new zonal head.
A top anti-corruption czar, Muktar, comes into his new post with a lot of experience, a statement by the Ilorin Zonal office of the commission, announced in Ilorin on Thursday.
Speaking at the formal taking over ceremony, on Thursday, April 1,2021, Muktar, charged officers of the zone to see the task of spearheading the fight against corruption in the zone as a service to one’s fatherland.

Katsina: Troops kill 10 bandits, arrest collaborators

The Defence Headquarters says Troops of Operation Sahel Sanity have eliminated 10 bandits, arrested their collaborators and informants as well as recovered cache of arms in different encounters in Katsina State.
The Acting Director, Defence Media Operations, Brig.-Gen. Benard Onyeuko, in a statement on Tuesday, said the troops had increased momentum of operations against bandits in the North Western zone.
Onyeuko said the troops had on Jan. 2, laid ambush on the bandit’s route at Garin Garus following information that bandits were sighted crossing Garin Inu in Batsari Local Government Area of the state.

The FCT Police Command have intensified strengthening of its raid on notorious den of Kidnappers along Kwaita-Kwali, Kuje,Bwari and Karshi axis of the nationâs capital city, especially during Yuletide season. To this end, men of the Command have arrested fourteen suspected kidnappers operating in the area and rescued a ten-year old kidnap victim In a satement from the Command hinted that the suspects confessed to have been involved in kidnapping activities, supply of logistics to kidnappers and cattle rustling in the Territory. The statement signed by ASP Yusuf Mariam, the Command Public Relations Officer listed exhibits recovered from the suspects to include: One unregistered Bajaj motorcycle, three hundred and forty thousand naira(N340,000)and one techno phone.
