Fire Station launches Alumni Residency Programme

Doha: The Fire Station: Artist in Residence is currently running the first edition of its Alumni Residency programme. The initiative brings together artists from previous residency years to collaborate and expand their repertoire.
The residency began on 15 January and runs until 15 July. The programme ensures the Fire Station’s ongoing connection to its alumni by providing workspaces, resources, and networking opportunities with visiting artists, curators and arts professionals.
Alanoud Al-Buainain, Deputy Director of Programmes & Exhibitions, Fire Station, said: “Our newly introduced Alumni Residency is a great addition that complements our local and international residency programmes. Over the next few months, we look forward to providing a platform for participating artists to develop their practice.”

Doha: With a well-curated display of thought-provoking art installations, “Reflection” makes a compelling exhibition essential for both art lovers and wellness enthusiasts to see.
Hosted by Msheireb Downtown Doha, the show recently launched at AlHosh Gallery at Sikkat Al Wadi highlights nine larger-than-life installations focusing on the crucial subject of wellness.
The installations question people’s choices on living life amid the many challenges during these hard and unforgiving times, and offer important lessons ought to be learned by people trying to survive in today’s demanding world.
Exhibition season begins at Katara with “21” show

Unique, eye-catching artworks by 21 Qatari and Arab artists are on display at “21” exhibition, the first gallery exhibition presented by the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) for year 2021 which was unveiled yesterday.
Adorning the walls of galleries 1 and 2 of Katara Building 19, the diverse artworks were a product of a 10-day art production workshop of artists Fatma Al Sharshani, Omar Al Shahabi, Hassan Manasrah, Sumam Ismael Azzam, Nour Elhadi, Nadya Al Qawbari, Thamer Al Dossari, Noor Al Shammari, Ameera Al Aji, Ahmad Nooh, Eman Al Sulaiti, Maryam Al Maadhadi, Hassan Al Salat, Yasser Al Mulla, Amira Radhi, Thamer Al Dossari, Mubarak Al Malik, Hazim Al Hussain, Huda Basahal, Ali Al Mulla, and Ahood
