to have more sign language tuition for the family as well, especially now obi and iris are getting older. they need full on sentences. they don tjust need the odd word that you can pick up on youtube videos. they need language. they need. like a hearing child would have english, they need bsl input. yasmine applied for a grant from the birkdale trust, but the funding only covers one parent for one child to learn level 1 bsl, it s not ongoing. level1 is £500 ish, give or take. it increases by about £100, £150 each level. and from what i ve looked at, i think we re going to have to go to at least level 3 to be able to communicate effectively. so it s important for obi that he does have access to spoken language. it s even more important for iris, given that it s her only language. at nighttime they don t wear their ears. when they re poorly, they don t wear their ears, when they re tired, they don t wear their ears. so, you know, you need to be able to have that communication.
