People arrested for breach in curfew orders and health restrictions are kept at different holding centres which have been set up to cater for the growing number of arrests.
Acting Commissioner of Police, Rusiate Tudravu clarified this as he reported another 88 cases which were recorded in the 24-hours.
He said arrests continue to be made for failure to wear a mask in a public place within a containment or lockdown zone and majority of those arrested either had a mask in their possession but chose to not wear it or were not wearing it properly.

Fiji Roads Authority’s Acting CEO, Kamal Prasad says a contractor doing road works in one area could leave a nearby road with potholes as they have a plan for road works and contractors are paid for each square metre of the road they fix.
Concerns have been raised that road contractors working on some roads are leaving roads nearby or part of the same road which also have numerous pot holes.
