Reporter good morning from belmont section of the bronx where 12 people were killed from that fastmoving fire. This morning, weve learned that four are children. Thick smoke shot out of a top floor apartment before 7 00 last night on prospect avenue. According to fire officials, it started in a ground floor apartment and shot all the way up like a chimney. There was a scramble from safety. 15 of them were rescued by fire officials.

Fire crews there still on the scene at this home on 39th street. The fire broke out around 2 00 this afternoon on the first floor and it spread to the roof of the structure. Fire crews in Prince Georges County was caused by a toddler playing with burners on a stove. The flames raced through an open apartment door and up the buildings stairwell chasing residents who were trying nbcs chris palone is in new york. He has new details on the 12 people who were killed.
