STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Detectives believe a 26-year-old man gunned down at the Stapleton Houses on Wednesday was the intended target of the attack and was not randomly shot, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.
Mark Bajandas of Mariners Harbor was fatally shot around 2 a.m. behind 77 Hill St. while he was attending a vigil to honor the victim of prior gun violence in the neighborhood, sources said.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. There were no known prior domestic incidents reported at the South Beach home of a 63-year-old man and his 68-year-old girlfriend involved in a suspected murder-suicide, law enforcement sources told the Advance/SILive.com.
Police have ruled the death of 68-year-old Yanqi Wen a homicide, after finding her body lying face up on a bed with trauma to her neck inside the home on Ragazzi Lane, according to a written statement by the NYPD.
