What s it about? Ti is a construction worker who struggles to fund his son Dicky s private education. He finds an orb in a junk yard and mistakes the object for a toy. When Dicky starts to play with it, their lives are turned upside down by this fascinating and strange new pet. Amid the resulting comic mayhem, they ultimately learn a poignant lesson about the true nature of family and the things money can t buy.

Staying true to his trademark theme, exploring the tension between duty and desire , Lee zeroes in on the complicated tryst between a naive actor-assassin, Wong Chia Chi / Mrs Mak (Tang Wei) and her mark, the calculating, cruel Mr Yee (Tony Leung Chiu Wai). Lee is working from a short story by Eileen Chang but plays up the naked, theatrical cruelty of the union between Mrs Mak and Mr Yee.
