Cooperstown, N.Y. - If you re a baseball fan you ve probably heard a lot about this guy over the past week.
Chicago White Sox catcher Yermin Mercedes made history in the MLB starting this season hitting 8-for 8.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Mercedes is the first player in the modern era to begin a season with hits in his first 8 at-bats.
To top it all off, on Thursday, the designated hitter sent a blast that traveled 485 feet making it the longest home run of the 2021 season thus far and the longest by a White Sock since Joe Borchard s 504-footer back in 2004.
