Good evening im the exec difficult director of the society of the cincinnati. Its my inestimable is pleasure to introduce our speak this evening. This is his book, he is going to talk to us about it. Ive had the opportunity to read it already. Its one of three books i read cover to cover. I dont read it quickly. The reason is, first, it is extremely well written. It is graceful prose of an oldfashioned sort, and it is wonderfully researched, what i was taught in graduate school to refer to as a revisionist work of history, that is all good works of history if theyre original are revisionist in some way, but hes telling us a new story about the coming of the revelation in massachusetts.
