It was not all gloom and doom for Jamaica in the men’s 200m on Monday night as one of the country’s representatives pulled through to the semi-finals at the Tokyo Olympics.
National champion Rasheed Dwyer took control to win heat one of the half-lap distance in 20.31 to book his spot in the semi-finals in commanding fashion, while Julian Forte was eliminated.
The third Jamaican – Yohan Blake – pulled out after he was eliminated from the 100m at the semi-final stage.
