COMMENT | Death and dignity: Remembering our Covid warriors Modified30 Dec 2020, 3:15 am A - COMMENT | Almost a year has passed since the first case of Covid-19 was reported globally. The disease has infected over 82 million people worldwide, of which 1.8 million have lost their lives. Malaysia was among the first set of countries to be affected in January, with its first citizen infected in early February. Fortunately, early interventions slowed the spread of the virus and it is only in recent months where numbers have risen to levels that show increasing widespread infections in the community at large, especially in Sabah and the Klang Valley. The next few months before a vaccine becomes widely available will be difficult ones.

Health Ministry lambasted for keeping Covid-19 cases at Klang hospital under wraps

KLANG: More Covid-19 cases are surfacing in Klang, with the latest spate of infections said to have been detected at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah here, leading to severe criticism from its MP. Reportedly, almost 100 people consisting of staff and hospitalised patients have tested positive for Covid-19 in recent weeks. When contacted for confirmation on Thursday (Dec 17), Selangor health director Datuk Dr Sha ari Ngadiman said he would be issuing a statement on the matter later in the day. The patients are said to have tested negative when they were admitted for treatment, and it is believed they contracted the virus at the hospital.
