India Yamaha Motor is recalling approximately 300,000 units of its 125 cc scooter models Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid due to faulty brake parts. The recall applies to scooters manufactured between January 1, 2022, and January 4, 2024. Yamaha is providing free replacement parts to affected customers and has urged them to check their eligibility for the recall on the company s website or visit a Yamaha service center for assistance.

The year 1922 in Sri Lanka (then Ceylon) was noteworthy for what is a little-known fact in our Islands rich history. It was the year Albert Einstein visited our shores en route to accept invitation in Japan. While Mr Einstein’s visit was recorded as merely a transit stop, 1922 would be remembered for a deeper and more permanent association with Japan as it was also the year in which visionary entrepreneur Michael Caderamanpulle Snr would introduce the magic of Yamaha Pianos to Sri Lanka, and with it the beginning of a long and successful journey in music.
