Challengers in Yakima City Council races maintained their leads as election officials counted more ballots Wednesday, with Yakima school board incumbents poised to keep their seats.
A little late in the game but we re here now. Starting Tues 7/27/21, for the next three days, the KIT Morning News will be featuring interviews with the candidates for three open Yakima City Council seats in Districts 2, 4, & 6. On Friday the District #3 Yakima County Commissioner Candidate race will be featured.
What that means is if you live in one of those districts you ll get a primary ballot in the mail, if you live in districts 1,3,5, or 7, you won t.so don t be alarmed.

Our first set of interviews will feature the four candidates running for Yakima s southeast district #2 Current councilman Jason White, who is not seeking re-election, was elected to the position in November 2017. White won the election with 573 votes to challenger Pablo Gonzales 234 votes.

Kennewick Police Department
KENNEWICK, Wash. Early on Thursday morning, officers from the Kennewick Police Officer arrested a man accused of domestic violence who took an unconventional approach to obstructing a law enforcement officer.
According to a Facebook post by the Kennewick Police Department, officers were called near the 700 block of S Garfield St on Wednesday, March 7. They were responding to a potential assault that occurred in a vehicle nearby. Officers were given a description of a 25-year-old male who was in the backyard of the residence.
Officers called for the suspect, who was identified as Maclovio Madrigal-Morfin, to exit the backyard calmly. There was no response, prompting the police officers to enter the backyard and search the area.
