Former CBP Agent Admits to Bringing Mexican National Into US Illegally: DOJ
A former Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer has pleaded guilty to illegally bringing a Mexican woman into the United States, according to the Justice Department.
Rhonda Lee Walker, 40, of Laredo, admitted to federal prosecutors that she helped the illegal immigrant enter the country so that she could work for Walker as a housekeeper and nanny.
The department said in a statement that on Jan. 2 Walker used a colleague’s computer login to help the woman, who has no legal status to reside or work in America, pass through the Laredo Port of Entry in Texas by scanning her immigration documents before entry.

It is crazy how some people will do the craziest things and lose a lot from it. For example, you hear crazy stories about people with good careers that lose their job over something dumb. Many years ago that was actually the case with an El Paso man. He spent soo many years in school, long study nights, and finally landed a job in the medical field. Well, in 2010, he was arrested for possessing child porn. He basically put in all that hard work at school and landing his dream job for nothing.

A CBP officer in Laredo has been arrested accused of using another officer’s login information to allow the caretaker of her mother and children into the United States from Mexico, avoiding COVID-19 protocols for non-essential travel, according to an arrest affidavit.
Rhonda Lee Walker was charged with falsify, conceal or cover up by any trick, scheme or device a material fact; make false, fictitious or fraudulent statement or representation; knowing or reckless disregard of the fact that an immigrant remained in the United States; and transport, attempt to transport and conspire to transport the immigrant.
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer allegedly used a colleague’s computer login to sneak her undocumented housekeeper into Texas from Mexico after circumventing COVID-19 non-essential travel restrictions by scheduling an appointment for the woman to donate plasma at a clinic just over the U.S. border. The officer, identified in a federal criminal complaint as Rhonda Lee Walker, is stationed in Laredo, TX. The woman Walker allegedly.
They tracked down a wire payment they said Officer Walker made to the housekeeper’s family in Mexico, and obtained video of the officer walking out to the middle of the border crossing bridge on Jan. 2 and escorting the woman into the U.S., jumping the line of people waiting. Officer Walker then used another officer’s login to finish the admissions process for the housekeeper.
Authorities said Officer Walker arranged the entry despite pandemic restrictions that should have barred the woman because her travel was not essential.
Internal affairs agents were on hand last week when Ms. Trevino-SanMiguel tried to reenter the U.S., and confronted her. She admitted she was being used as a housekeeper.
