New ferry line will connect Thessaloniki and Sporades island

The Minister of Shipping and Island Policy, Giannis Plakiotakis, immediately after the meeting he had with the Deputy Minister of Macedonia and Thrace Stavros Kalafatis, at the Governor’s Office, announced a new ferry line that will be subsidised.
This new ferry line will connect Thessaloniki with the Sporades islands with three routes week, from 1 June to 15 September.

“The inhabitants of Northern Greece will have direct access to the Sporades with a fast passenger ferry,” Plakiotakis explained.
“In this way the central role that the port of Thessaloniki can play in terms of ferry connections is validated and we ensure excellent ferry connections, creating a network of of ferry transport Thessaloniki and Northern Greece and our islanders,” he said.
