Vijay Sethupathi teams up with Vetri Maaran for Viduthalai
Maaran, known for making films like Aadukalam, Visaranai, Asuran, is working with Sethupathi for the first time
South star Vijay Sethupathi has teamed up with National award-winning filmmaker Vetri Maaran for his next film
Vidhuthalai, the producers announced on Thursday.
The Tamil-language film, produced by Elred Kumar s Production house RS Infotainment, who has backed films like
Ko, Yaamirukka Bayamey, among others, will feature Sethupathi as a mentor and actor Soori as the protagonist.
Maaran, known for making films like
Aadukalam, Visaranai, Asuran, is working with Sethupathi for the first time.
The film is described as an edge-of-seat thriller with the music composed by legendary composer Isaignani Ilayaraja.

The team of Katteri had announced that their film would hit screens for Christmas, but postponed the release over concerns of a second wave of COVID-19 hitting the country. Deekay, who’s directed the horror comedy, says, “There were talks of a second wave of the virus. The public should be safe. And I was also worried that if theatres were shut down again, it would affect us all. We have worked really hard on this film and all the efforts that the technicians and actors have put in should not go waste. So, we decided to wait it out. Now, vaccination has also come. We are just waiting for a suitable date now.”
