City board of supervisors is expected to vote on whether to put it on the ballot. Reporter this was first introduced by the city on youth commission. They say the reason is that 16 and 17yearolds are more ready to engage and this would increase voter turnout. The majority of supervisors are supporting the proposal. This would allow them to vote on municipal issues. This would be allowed to be on the November Ballot for vote torres decide. Upon turning 16, young people can drive, work without limitation on five hours, pay taxes, take classes on government in school, are subject to adult criminal charges and, yet, are denied the right to vote.
