Standing off to the side of the school’s concrete track, Simone Facey who coaches the sprinters marks up the grass for her sprinters and the others. This is one of the biggest challenges the team has to face, said Devin Bennett, who coaches the track and cross country teams at the school.

1. The Dr. Phillips girls wrestling program kept the dynasty alive as the Panthers won their fifth consecutive state championship Saturday, Feb. 20. The dominating performance the Panthers captured the title by scoring 27 points more than second-place Freedom was led by state-champion performances by Juliana Diaz (117-pound division), Armelle Oliantus (162-pound division) and Skyy Gowan (197-pound division).

Late in the fourth quarter of her Senior Night game, Abigail Crain was on the verge of something special.
The Windermere High senior went into the game against South Lake Tuesday, Jan. 19 needing 30 points to get to the 1,000-point mark of her high school career.
After a rebound fell to Windermere, Crain received the outlet pass before sprinting down court knocking down the two-pointer while being fouled for the old-timey three-point play. That free throw would take her to quadruple digits.
