今年5月30日上午，新疆阿克苏地区消防救援支队库车市大队举行了第二季度的消防救援演练赛，长宁路消防救援站政治指导员李运飞在这演练赛中再次夺冠。
2018年，一条消防员洪水中救人的短视频全网火爆，1.2亿网友点赞，这名消防员就是李运飞。
湍急的洪水把李运飞几次冲倒，在浊浪中不断沉浮，战友用牵引绳把他拉上了岸。望着河中随时可能被洪水吞没的李忠起夫妇，李运飞等不及休息调整，再次涉水救援。在几度呛水、体力严重透支的情况下，李运飞一直坚持到将李忠起夫妇安全救出，而他却因胃中吸入了大量泥沙昏倒在现场。
工作中，李运飞总是主动请缨打头阵。九年来，他参与灭火救援1200多起，抢救被困人员140多人。
