The Redmi K40 series is an important smartphone series for Xiaomi; one that could help Xiaomi get a stronghold of the flagship killer space. Of the three variants, it is the Redmi K40 Pro Plus that carries the best specifications of the lot – a Snapdragon 888, 108-megapixel main camera, a 4520mAh battery, and up to 12GB RAM. Based on a leak from tipster Kacper Skrzypek, the Redmi K40 Plus could most certainly come to India as Xiaomi’s newest flagship this year. Skrzypek dug into the MIUI Camera app codes and found evidences that support the same. The codenames suggest that the Redmi K40 Pro Plus with its 108-megapixel camera is slated to visit India. Based on a couple of recent leaks, Xiaomi might launch the Mi 11X and Mi 11X Pro in India in the coming months. These premium phones could be based on the Redmi K40 series that launched in China previously. The exact specifications aren’t known yet but given Xiaomi’s penchant to rename its existing products, there might be no difference in the specifications between these premium series phones. The leak comes courtesy of a tweet from a tipster who goes by the name of Kacper Skrzypek on Twitter. After digging in some codes, he found that the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro could head to India as Mi branded devices. The codes also confirm the Mi 11X moniker. Expected to be the Mi 11X in India, the Redmi K40 runs on the Snapdragon 870 chip. With a 120Hz AMOLED display, 48MP main camera, and MIUI 12, this is expected to be a fast Android phone. Prices are expected to be similar to the OnePlus 9R 5G.
The Poco F3 series might launch in March, if you consider the latest leaks and teasers from Poco officials. The company is expected to follow its rebranding strategy again this year and may do it for the Redmi K40 series. Both the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro might make it to the global markets as the Poco F3 and Poco F3 Pro. Some even hint at an Indian launch this year, thereby marking Poco’s re-entry into country’s the premium segments.
