MIAMI BEACH â New York chef Mario Carbone has achieved that consummate New York âgetâ at his new Italian restaurant in Miami â heâs created a restaurant where itâs nearly impossible to get a reservation.
His old-world restaurant serves classics like spicy rigatoni and veal parmesan with homemade mozzarella, hand-cut at curved banquette tables. The rooms are accented with 1950s flairs like Murano-style glass chandeliers and dramatic terracotta-hued curtains.
Carbone, which opened in January, often has a wait list that tops 3,000 a night. Beyoncé and Jay-Z and Victoria and David Beckham have all dined in the restaurantâs secret outdoor nook.

It took about three months for Jon Paul Pérez to persuade his father to invest in the luxury apartment tower Wynwood 25 back in 2017.
The eldest son of Related Group founder and Miami “condo king” Jorge Pérez said last year that he negotiated the partnership with developer East End Capital “from soup to nuts.”
East End was looking for a strong partner with construction expertise, and it found that in Related.
Wynwood 25’s nearly 290 rental units and retail space were completed last year, marking the first major apartment project to be completed since the trendy neighborhood was rezoned about five years ago.
With the onset of the pandemic, like many others, we were forced to close our doors, Srebnick goes on. During that time, we have reimagined a Wynwood Walls 2.0 version to further our desire to create an artistic oasis in an urban core, pushing the boundaries of art, programming and education, while making safety protocols a top priority.”
These precautions include operating at 30 percent capacity, required facemasks for entry, timed ticketing, hand-sanitizing stations, and social distancing. For the time being, tickets will be free thanks to a partnership with the Wynwood Business Improvement District (BID). But beginning January 19, 2021, tickets will have $10 price tag attached for adults and $5 for students and military with ID. (Children under 12 can still access the outdoor gallery for free.)
