After just over 10 and a half years on the job, Alan Ours is no longer the County Manager of Glynn County. Ours turned in his resignation letter during the County Commission’s February 18 meeting giving the board six months notice, marking his last dayon August 27.That came to an end last night as the commission voted 5 to 2 to exercise their employment contract option and terminated Ours as of yesterday - April 1st. Commissioners Bill Brunson and Cap Fendig were the two votes against Our’s early termination. Being a personnel issue the matter was discussed in executive session before the board reconvened in open session and passed the motion. Ours’ revised contract will pay him his normal salary through his August 27 resignation date. Commission chairman Wayne Neal said, with the search process now underway, the commission believes this is the right time for a fresh start.
