The Parochial Church Council (PCC) of St Mary and St Melor has told
the Journal that it is continuing to explore possibilities about its continuing ownership of the hall. It added: These include the possibility of sale or lease to a third party. I am beyond disappointed Mark Verbinnen, town and Wiltshire councillor for Amesbury and Bulford, previously worked as manager at the hall. He said: “I have a long history with the Wyndham Hall, and I am beyond disappointed to see that it will be for sale. My family has invested a lot of money and time in making the Wyndham hall a success.
Wyndham Hall, Amesbury A MUCH-loved community hall in Amesbury has been put up for sale. It was announced in August 2020 that Wyndham Hall, on Church Street, would not be reopening as a community venue available to hire - a decision made by the owners, St Mary and St Melor Church. But the
Journal understands that the venue is now up for the sale, with the Wyndham Hall Action Group claiming that the church is trying to sell it without any warning or consulting either the parishioners or the community . The group added that news of the sale has come as a complete shock, without an opportunity to discuss the proposal.
