OROVILLE, Calif. - Excitement is building for the World Premier Concerts of the restored Wurlitzer Theatre Organ at the historic State Theatre in Oroville.
After more than a decade of planning and effort and community investment of more than a quarter of a million dollars, the curtain will go up on the restored Wurlitzer Theatre organ on Saturday.
This is the first time the entire array of more than 1,100 pipes will be featured in a public concert. It is also the first major event since the pandemic closed the theatre nearly 18 months ago. The Patriotic Pops Concerts will feature the marches of Sousa as well as music by composers, including Broadway and Hollywood.
