In response to the recent flooding, officials with Paintsville/Johnson County Emergency Management say they have received a lot of calls and messages from folks wanting to know where to donate funds to help affected homeowners recover from this recent flood event.
Monetary donations can be made to Johnson County Long-Term Recovery and mailed to Johnson County Fiscal Court at P.O. BOX 868, Paintsville, Kentucky 41240.
Checks can also be dropped off at the courthouse at 230 Court Street, Paintsville, Kentucky.

A large embankment behind the Paintsville City garage is collapsing into the Big Sandy River.
Johnson County Emergency Management says the slide happened Thursday morning on River Road.
It is about 100 feet wide and 400 feet long.
Multiple vehicles and other equipment were lost in the slide but there were no injuries.
